Following from the announcement last night, is the UK Lockdown finally set to end?
The Health Secretary Sajid Javid announced yesterday that ‘freedom day’ is now set for the 19th July.
We had expected lockdown restrictions to end back in June but this was pushed back to July, allowing more people to be vaccinated in the mean time.
The extra vaccinations mean that the need for hospital beds is lower, giving our NHS some breathing room.
We’re personally looking forward to the new normal but remain cautious.
Many of us will be continuing to use face coverings and of course keeping to 2m distances where possible to reduce infections.
